LASIK
LASIK improves vision safely and precisely by reshaping the cornea to correct nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. Vision improves within minutes, and most patients eventually enjoy 20/20 vision or better after treatment.
Cataract Surgery
Dr. Gerstenfeld performs a state of the art version of cataract surgery commonly known as no stitch, no patch surgery. In this technique (pictured below), the cataract is removed using an ultrasound probe that enters the eye through a tiny 2 millimeter incision in the cornea.
Eye Exam
Only your eye doctor can perform a comprehensive eye exam to evaluate the overall health of the eye and detect any changes that may indicate a vision disorder.
PRK Laser Surgery
PRK or photorefractive keratectomy is one of the safest and most time-tested laser vision correction procedures available. Like LASIK, it reshapes the cornea to improve vision.
Corneal Transplant
The cornea is the clear covering on the front of the eye which bends, or refracts, light rays that focus on the retina in the back of the eye. A certain shape or curvature is required in order for light to focus exactly on the retina, rather than in front of it or behind it.
Glaucoma Laser Treatment
Glaucoma is an eye disease in which pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure) rises dangerously high, damaging the optic nerve and causing vision loss.
